US Drug Policies Need an Overhaul: Lessons from Prohibition

We hear that illicit drugs are bad. So we support efforts to limit their production and use. What we don’t hear is that these efforts are not working and they impose severe social and economic costs both in the US and abroad. This article sets forth these costs and concludes illicit drugs should be legalized.
