A couple of new topics – a serious/near hopeless problem that could lead to a complete oil/security breakdown in the Middle East followed by something somewhat comic.
1. Netanyahu:

We understand that Obama wanted to portray to the world that he made it difficult for Netanyahu to get a meeting with him. Well, fine.
But Netanyahu is not the problem – he has not changed his position – he wants more settlements.
The problem is the Obama administration caving to his request – imagine this: the American Jewish lobby getting Obama to allow more settlements against complete world opposition. If you have not already, I urge you to take a look at my posting referenced above.
And now, the President’s spin managers conveying to the world that Obama was having a really tough time to fit Netanyahu in. In public, sound tough. But I would guess it is the same old game behind closed doors. Obama: We will support you at any cost. I wonder who else was in that “closed meeting”? I hope I am wrong.
2. Tour Guide
I understand that the 3 US citizens that Iran took into custody were “on a vacation hiking along the Iraq/Iran border. Think about that: you are a family with a child: you want to get away, a real vacation – a hike along the Iraq/Iran border?
You know, every so often it is good to find something to laugh about.
Either this family was being paid to do something other than hike or they need a new travel agent.
Can you imagine their travel agent? We have a package deal for you – a few days in Teheran at a discounted luxury hotel, then a hike along the Iran/Irag border. Absolutely, bring your child. The hike will be followed by a 3 nights in a luxury hotel in Baghdad in the Green Zone.
I can imagine they are sitting in the Iranian jail saying we need a new travel agent.
Never mind. A complete nuisance that the US and Iranian governments did not need.
